Abstract. In contemporary Chinese linguistics, a number of terms are used to describe the phenomenon of repetition, tracing back to the classics of linguistic science in China. However, the conceptual apparatus in this field remains limited and requires further clarification. This study aims to present the phenomenon of repetition through the terminological framework developed within the Chinese linguistic tradition and to critically examine the classifications of linguistic units proposed in this area. The article systematically clarifies the scope of the basic terms and introduces the term 重复构式 chóngfù gòushì ‘constructions with repetitions’ into scholarly use. For the first time in Russian linguistics, based on the Corpus of Constructions in Modern Chinese, a distinction is proposed between three types of repetition, taking into account their structural and semantic characteristics: semantic repetition, structural repetition, and lexical repetition.
