Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the article is to identify universal and culturally specific features of the representation of the concepts of \u201cmasculine\u201d and \u201cfeminine\u201d in the Russian and German languages. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the complex comparative analysis, which combines the study of the collocation profiles of the key adjectives masculine \/ feminine, m\u00e4nnlich \/ weiblich \/ fraulich based on the newspaper subcorpora of the National Corpus of the Russian Language (NCRY) and Digitales W\u00f6rterbuch der deutschen Sprache (DWDS) with the analysis of word-formation components in the German language M\u00e4nner-, Frauen-, Herren-, Damen-. The main results demonstrate that, given the commonality of basic gender stereotypes (the connection between masculinity and an active social role, and femininity with appearance and emotionality), the Russian language implements a generalization strategy using universal lexemes. German, on the other hand, tends towards a strategy of conceptual segmentation, possessing a multi-component system for the differentiated description of various aspects of gender identity. A difference in the conceptual core of adjectives was revealed: German m\u00e4nnlich and weiblich have a biological-functional core, Russian masculine and feminine have a taxonomic core.<\/p>\n
