Linguopragmatic Mechanisms of Influence in Constructing the AI Image in Political Communication
AbstractThe aim of this study is to identify and describe the mechanisms of interaction between speech act strategies and implicit strategies in the process of constructing the image of artificial intelligence (AI) in political communication. The novelty of the research lies in the attempt to synthesize the analysis of the illocutionary force of key speech acts with the mechanisms of implicitness (presuppositions and implicatures) for the construction of the AI image. Based on the texts of transcripts of State Duma sessions, the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, and public speeches by global IT leaders (2024–2026), it is argued that narratives about AI as a threat, a tool for progress, or an object of state regulation are actively constructed through the strategic use of speech acts and mechanisms of implicitness (presuppositions and implicatures). The theoretical foundation consists of the works of J. Austin, J. Searle, P. Grice, R. Stalnaker, as well as Russian researchers of political discourse. The results demonstrate the practical value of the integrated analysis of the approaches of these linguists for the critical deconstruction of ideological frameworks and manipulative strategies. They can be applied in courses on political linguistics and critical discourse analysis, as well as in the practical work of think tanks engaged in monitoring manipulative techniques in public communication.
