Abstract. The article is dedicated to three linguists who share several common themes: all of them would have turned 100 in 2025, all of them fought in the Great Patriotic War, all of them graduated from the Military Institute of Foreign Languages, where they studied in the translation department, and all three are personally acquainted with the authors of this article. We are talking about V. D. Devkin, M. Y. Zwilling and Y. A. Sazonov. The purpose of this publication is to collect the most important data on the lives and scientific heritage of linguists for inclusion in reference literature on Russian linguists and translators, as well as to create the basis for writing a separate chapter on military translation and translators in relevant textbooks.
